Simple & Easy Mental Health Steps to Get You Through December
As we are now into December, we often find ourselves busy with the hustle & bustle of the holiday season. December often is busy & filled with year end tasks, Christmas shopping, preparing for the holiday season, holiday parties & we may find ourselves stressed, overwhelmed & exhausted.
Here are a few simple & easy ideas to help ease some stress, anxiety and support your mental health during the most busiest time of the season:
-breathe/practice mindfulness: practicing deep breathing & mindfulness can help to regulate your nervous system especially when feeling stressed & overwhelmed
-engage in a hobby or activity: it helps to stay connected to the things you enjoy
-be intentional about how you spend your time & make a plan: this can help so you don’t overextend yourself and help prevent burnout
-be present/practice grounding exercises: take a moment to be present & enjoy the simple pleasures of the day
-journal: journalling can be therapeutic & can help clear your mind of worries
